Story With Riddles for KidsShe was so pleased, it was indeed fitting,Anna would have room for resting and knitting. She looked around and could clearly see,This was surely a place where she could be!She placed a sofa, a couple of chairs,a rug, and some pictures next to the stairs. Two grand windows, even a dog and a cat,Anna loved her home, and that was that!*children's books author, Sigal Adler, just keeps adding to her now a very impressive number of books for children. Each of her books was written in Hebrew and as they became best sellers in Israel she decided to have them translated into English to benefit an even broader range of children. As always Sigal's rhyming style is delightful. This new book is not only entertaining but also carries messages to those children fortunate enough to read them - or have them read to them. Those who follow Sigal Adler know that she offers a meaningful commentary about the importance of reading and the use of rhyme to bring the love of reading to play in children who are challenged by reading or discouraged about learning to read. 'Children with dyslexia, for instance, find it much easier to understand words when they rhyme rather than dissecting them into letters and syllables.'In this book, ANNA BANANA, we meet Anna - "There was a woman whose name was Anna, Who lived all alone inside a banana, Her home was long and thin and tall, With not much room from wall to wall" Anna bemoans her small space and realizes it is time to find a new place. She tries living in an orange (but was confined by the orange walls), an onion (but the smell and irritation to her eyes...), a carrot (no floor she could sweep with a broom), a lemon, a radish, a cantaloupe melon (roomy but still lacking, even after living there two years!), and finally a watermelon - large enough for her furniture and pets, and finally she was satisfied - and happy! This is another wonderful children's book, beautifully written in magical rhyme and related with terrific illustrations, allowing children to learn the concept of moving to new homes in a very supportive manner. Very Highly Recommended. Grady Harp5.0 out of 5 starsExceptional rhyming storyI have two grandchildren that both have several books, which only a handful stand out as exceptional. This book is definitely in the exceptional category. This author has a wonderful gift in storytelling through rhythm. The book is also beautifully illustrated. There is a great moral to this story as well. I am ordering extra copies to give as gifts.5.0 out of 5 starsRecommended Read more
